Are you grown-ups ... ?

... or, babies ... ? It doesn't really matter ...

... or, kids ... ?

Page 2/30

The point is, everybody, ...

... let's share laughter, shall we ... ?

Then, it becomes more fun, indeed ...

Page 3/30

( Done ! )

Right ... You're ready now .... !

We're here at Baby Sitting Room at Morinomiya High School ... School students are in the middle of their winter vacation now ...

Page 4/30

Today ... We all do the "ō-sōji (Lit., big cleaning)" ... to express Big Thank You to this School Baby Sitting Room .... [ NOTE ] In the West, the big cleaning is commonly held at the beginning of spring, and people usually call it “Spring Cleaning”. In Japan, "ō-sōji (big cleaning)" is literally formed by "sōji (to clean)" and "o- (big)," so "ō-sōji" can be defined as "a big cleaning" and it is done by the end of the year. Back in the Edo period (1603-1868) when most Japanese houses had hearths and fire stoves, the house would rather get dirty by the end of the year. Edo Castle started to be cleaned in December, and people started to believe that the December cleaning was not merely a matter of cleaning the house, but also as a purification ritual in preparation for greeting the New Year God. It symbolizes a fresh spirit and a new beginning. The most important part of "ō-sōji (big cleaning)," known as "susu-harai ( dust cleaning)," is the act of cleaning your home and workplace from dust and dirt. While doing "susu-harai," we also give thanks for the blessings of the previous year and we clean to purify the spaces for the year to come [Japan Info.].

Here ... This is your floor cloth to work ...

Kotarō, let's work together, shall we ... ?

Page 5/30

Yes (in Baby Language).

"Kotarō is happy to clean the room." (Nodding.)

Ohhh ... In the early hours of the morning, you guys look enthusiastic, already ----.

Actually, today ... we all do the "ō-sōji (Lit., big cleaning)" ... since this year will end soon ...

And, you are totally ready, aren't you ... ?

You are always early in the morning ....

[Ryūichi] Usaida-san ... Good morning ...

Oh, Kamiya ... Good morning to you, too ...

Good morning ...

Page 6/30

Hey, Taka-kun ... Good morning to you, too ...

Wait a minute ... You don't look well today ... Are you all right ... ?

What's the matter (in Baby Language) .... ?

( Taking off his coat reluctantly. )

I'm so sleepy ...

Oh, this is unusual ...

( Hiding. )

You're usually full of beans from the morning, though ......

You stayed up late last night, perhaps ... ?

Taka made me wake up in the middle of the night ... !

[Hayato] Well, ... last night, he had a nightmare, apparently .. So that, he wetted the bed and woke up in the middle of night ... That's why ...

[Taka] No, Big Brother --- ! You have to keep it secret ---- !!

( Patting. )

Page 7/30

I never wetted the bed ---- ! (And, he is screaming and crying.)

Oh, bother ... Stop crying, will you ... ? You ruin my school uniform .... !

[Usaida] Indeed ... I didn't hear ... "someone wetted the bed" ---.

[Ryūichi] Oh ... Don't worry, Taka-kun ... I couldn't hear anything at all ... !!

[Ryūichi] Excuse me, Usaida-san ... !!

( Sniffling. )

Really .... ?

[Usaida] Can't you believe me (laughing) .... ?

[Ryūichi] ! Yes. Yes. That's true, ... isn't it, Kotarō .... ?

( Nodded. )

Yes (in Baby Language) ...

( Space out. )

Page 8/30

( Big smile ! )

I don't feel sleepy at all ...

Good (in Baby Language) ... !

[Usaida] Right ... Suddenly, you're happy, then ...

Say ... You're a kid who is easy to care for ....

[Ryūichi] Of course, it's nice and clean since you haven't used it yet, though ....

[Ryūichi] Ahhh ... Kotarō ... That cloth isn't a handkerchief ...It's for cleaning the floor .....

How about you, Kamitani ... ? Oh, look at your pullover ... Because, taka-kun cried a lot ......

Anyway, we start cleaning soon, don't we ... ? So, I change from this school uniform into PE (Physical Education) gym uniform (training suit) ...

Now, I'm off to a dressing room ... Please keep an eye on that stupid kid ...

Here ... You use this clean towel ....

( Wet .... )

[Taka] I am not stupid ... !

Page 9/30

Oh, that's right --- ! Today, actually, I also have a training suit to wear for the big cleaning ...

Please give me a little time to change my clothes, Ryū-chan ...

Ahhh ... This outfit really brings back memories ....

Well ... This outfit really brings back memories, doesn't it .... ?

Page 10/30

How do I look ... ?

When he was a high school student, he used to wear this School PE (Physical Education) gym uniform (training suit) ... !!!

See ... ? Today, just like Ryū-chan and Hayato, I also could be a high school student ~~~.

.... something like that ....

Page 11/30

[Kirin] Oh, I know what you mean ...

Usaida ...

.... you're a "Rōnen-chei," aren't you .... ?

[Kirin] You are a "grown-up-high-school-student."

"Rōnen-chei" .... ? Oh, here, you may mix up two words, "Rōnin-sei" and "Ryūnen-sei," perhaps ... ? [ NOTE A: "Rōnin-sei" ] A "rōnin (Lit., drifter or wanderer)" was a Samurai without lord or master during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A Samurai became masterless from the death or fall of his master, or after the loss of his master's favour or privilege. In modern Japanese usage, the term also describes a "salary-man (office workers)" who is unemployed or a secondary school graduate (age: 18) who has not yet been admitted to university (since he/she failed the university entrance exams.) He/She is preparing for his/her university entrance exams this year [Wikipedia]. [ NOTE B: "Ryūnen-sei" ] A student who repeats a year, or remains in the same cl@ss for another year.

Yeah. You leave it to me ...

And, Kirin-chan and Taka-kun ... With those brooms, you two help Usaida-san, all right .... ?

I'm happy to do that ...

Page 13/30

[Ryūichi] And then, Takuma-kun, Kazuma-kun, and Kotarō ....
